SKI SPORTS

İndispensable for skiing in winter sports tourism, both in Turkey has numerous routes in the world. Before talking about these routes for amateur and professional skiers who want to combine skiing and vacation, let's get to know skiing more closely.

What is skiing?

Skiing is a sport that relies on advancing on snow with the help of necessary equipment. Since it can be done from an early age, most ski centers also have separate tracks for children.

How to Skiing?

Skiing is done with various techniques, on tracks of different difficulty levels. What beginners need to learn first is how to use ski shoes. Most specially produced ski shoes have tie-down points. With the help of adjustment belts, you can shape the shoes to suit your feet. After the shoes you have placed parallel to the skis, you must place the poles in the same way. This process is very practical thanks to the spaces in the middle of the skis.

Those who will ski for the first time should first practice stepping on a flat area. You can take steps back and forth with the help of poles by standing still. Once you have learned to balance it is possible to switch to techniques like snow slingshot or slalom later on. For the snow slingshot, the skis are made into an inverted V shape. It is necessary to practice this movement in order to slow down and stop while skiing. Slalom, on the other hand, is the technique of moving legs and body in the form of right-left. One of the easiest techniques to be able to slide in a controlled way is slalom.

You can make your first attempts at the ski camp or ski tours accompanied by professionals.

Necessary Materials for Skiing

To develop a correct technique, footwear and quality equipment are required.

Skiing Team

Ski set comes first among the things that should be taken when going skiing. The height, weight and level of expertise of the athletes should be known for ski selection. There are different ski sets with a narrow back, curved tip or rectangular shape. Features such as these curves and flexibility are also determinants of the performance of the athletes during turning. Beginners to the sport are recommended to seek professional help for the ski equipment they will choose.

Skiing Pole

Batons help keep balance in turns and on skiing. Batons are used to keep balance on sloping tracks and to gain speed on flat areas.

Skiing Shoes

Long shoes up to the ankle are made of leather plastic in hard or light forms. These shoes, which also cover the ankles, are specially designed to keep the foot and ankle stable.

Binding (Fixation)

The lacing used on the front and back of the shoes ensures that skis and shoes are fixed. Bindings with certain dimensions are produced from hard plastic materials.

Clothes

Ski suits are resistant to wetness as well as making it easier to move on the snow. In addition to ski jackets, ski trousers, ski goggles, ski gloves, ski pants, ski caps, neck collars, ski helmets are among the equipment that must be used. Children's ski suits are produced in smaller sizes for different age groups.
